Silk Road International School has been admitted as a prospective member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). This membership means a lot to the SRIS administration. Membership will supply adequate information and control for SRIS system, which will help the school to improve its services and quality of education.
Since the 27th of September 1999, SRIS has made visible progress and successively gained recognition within the local authority of education, society and international arena. Schools are eligible to apply to membership provided they are accredited or recognized by an appropriate educational authority and feel they can meet the standards for admission to ECIS membership. An applicant school is asked to supply comprehensive basic data along with a brief description of the school—its program, facilities, charter and organizational structure. The Membership Committee of the ECIS Board of Directors considers a school’s application. Silk Road International School has been confident about meeting the required standards and the school’s prospective membership is the first step to regular membership. The school has been working on all the required standards in order to be accredited by ECIS! Prospective membership is open to schools that are newly established and are planning to introduce new programs that will make them eligible to apply for regular membership. Prospective member schools share the purposes of the Council and may be called “international” in any of the following senses: 1) Offering a curriculum in which the culture and educational system of two or more countries is represented. 2) Offering a curriculum typical of one country, but located in another country and actively pursuing cultural exchange with its host country. 3) Having a student body of diverse nationalities, educational aims and curricula offerings that promote and support the purposes of the Council. SRIS fully shares the purposes of the European Council of International Schools and operates within a framework that covers the multinational approach to education. |
