The academic program for grades from 1 to 2 covers English, math, science, computers, music, physical education and art. The academic program for grades 3,4,5,6 and 7 covers English, math, sciences, history, geography, computers, music, physical education and art. The academic program for grades 8 and 9 covers English, math, sciences, history, geography, computers, music, physical education, economics, low, chemistry and art. In addition, beginning with grade 2, all students must choose to study either the Kyrgyz language or the Russian language. Plus, beginning with grade 2, all students may choose another language to study, e.g. French, German, Turkish. Students from grade 2 through upper grades who don’t demonstrate proficiency in the English language are enrolled in English as a Second Language class (ESL). The aim of the ESL program is to provide the non-English speaking students with sufficient knowledge of English so they can (within 1 year) join in regular classes, according to their age level, for academics and social routines. English is taught with proven techniques in the ESL program. Teaching methods allow students to easily absorb the English lessons and each class practices 4-5 hours daily. |
